CryptoWorld News reports that, according to the Daily Economic News, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority will announce the first batch of stablecoin licenses at 5:00 PM on April 10th. Subsequently, licensed stablecoin issuers will hold a media briefing. Previously, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority completed the final review of the first batch of applications in mid-March 2026. Currently, it is in the official public announcement preparation stage. The authority received a total of 36 applications, and the first batch of licenses is planned to be issued for 2 to 3 entities, with strict regulatory standards. In early February, Hong Kong Monetary Authority Chief Executive Yu Weiwen stated that they aim to issue Hong Kong’s first stablecoin issuer licenses by March this year. He also emphasized, “The number of licenses issued in the first batch will definitely not be many, with prudence as the goal.”
