Regarding the Strait of Hormuz! Iran, latest statement! Launches missiles at the U.S. "Lincoln" aircraft carrier
Iran claims to have launched missiles at a U.S. aircraft carrier, emphasizing its control over the Strait of Hormuz.
According to CCTV News, the Iranian military announced on the 25th local time that Iran’s armed forces had launched missiles to strike the U.S. “Abraham Lincoln” aircraft carrier. Iran did not disclose further details.
Iranian Navy Commander Irani stated that Iran’s navy has “strong control and dominance” over the Strait of Hormuz and the Persian Gulf. He said Iran is continuously monitoring the movements and actions of the U.S. “Abraham Lincoln” carrier strike group, and that once the group enters missile system range, Iran’s navy will strike.
Additionally, on the 25th local time, Iran’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations issued a statement saying that ships from non-combatant countries can pass safely through the Strait of Hormuz. The statement said that as long as the country to which the ship belongs does not participate in or support hostile actions against Iran, and fully complies with announced security and safety regulations, it can enjoy safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz in coordination with relevant Iranian authorities.
Meanwhile, in response to U.S. President Trump’s statement on the 24th that the war against Iran has been “won,” and that Iran is prepared to “reach an agreement,” Iran’s ambassador to Pakistan, Mugaddam, said that so far Iran and the U.S. have “not engaged in any direct or indirect negotiations.”
According to the Islamic Republic News Agency of Iran on the 25th, Mugaddam said in an interview that friendly countries have been actively consulting with Iran and the U.S., trying to lay the groundwork for dialogue between the two sides to “end this aggression.” However, these efforts do not mean negotiations have begun between Iran and the U.S.
He said Iran always hopes to resolve differences through dialogue, but after the U.S. “diplomatic betrayal,” Iran has chosen to bravely defend the country and its people against invaders.
Additionally, Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghaei said in an interview on the 25th local time that Iran has had “very disastrous experiences” in diplomatic contacts with the U.S., criticizing U.S. diplomatic behavior.
Baghaei stated that during nuclear negotiations, Iran was attacked twice within nine months. He said this behavior is a “diplomatic betrayal,” and that such incidents “are not just once, but twice.”
Based on this, he said that “no one can trust U.S. diplomacy” at present.
Baghaei also responded to the impact of regional tensions on the global economy. He said that while he understands the current situation will affect the world economy, he emphasized that the situation “is not caused by Iran.” He pointed out that “the outside world is concerned about oil prices and food prices, but we are concerned about the safety of our citizens’ lives.”
Regarding international oil prices, today (March 25), both U.S. and Brent crude oil prices fell sharply, with WTI dropping below $90 per barrel, and ICE Brent crude falling over 6%.
