On April 7, the chemical sector continued to trend higher. Refined and organic silicon were among the top gainers. Hesong Silicon Industry (603260.SH) and Sanfangxiang (600370.SH) hit the daily limit. Previously, multiple other stocks including Dongyue Silicon Material (300821.SZ), Xin’an Shares (600596.SH), Yuf Shares (002427.SZ), and Hengyi Petrochemical (000703.SZ) also hit the daily limit, while Guangkang Biochemical (300804.SZ), Sima Shares (600810.SH), Silicob Technology (300019.SZ), and Luxi Chemical (000830.SZ) posted leading gains.
On the news front, according to Xinhua News Agency, Israeli media reported on the 6th that Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu had a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump on the 5th, asking the U.S. not to agree to a ceasefire with Iran during the current phase of the war. The report cited an Israeli official as saying that during the call, Netanyahu expressed “concerns about the possibility that the U.S. could reach a ceasefire agreement with Iran, even pointing out the risks of doing so.” It was reported that Trump told Netanyahu during the call that if Iran agrees to the demands of the U.S., a ceasefire might be achieved; he would not give up his demand that Iran hand over all enriched uranium, and he would not allow Iran to resume uranium enrichment activities.
Also, according to Israeli media reports, Netanyahu said at a cabinet meeting on the 5th that even if the U.S. and Iran reached a ceasefire agreement, Israel would not be required to stop its military actions against Hezbollah in Lebanon. Netanyahu issued a video statement on the 6th, confirming the phone call with Trump on the 5th. Netanyahu said Israel has destroyed Iran’s largest petrochemical plant, “systematically dismantling Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ money-making machine.” Israel will also continue to “clean out” senior Iranian officials.
According to CCTV News, at a press conference held at the White House, U.S. President Trump said that if Iran fails to “surrender” before 20:00 (U.S. Eastern Time) on April 7, he will carry out strikes on Iran’s civilian infrastructure.
Trump claimed he plans to destroy Iran’s bridges and power plants, “a plan has already been formulated.” Once it is launched, “every bridge inside Iran will be completely destroyed, and every power plant inside Iran will be completely paralyzed.” He also said that if the U.S. is willing, “the entire destruction process would take only a short four hours.” However, he claimed he “does not hope such a thing happens.” Iran could be knocked out within a single night—maybe the evening of the 7th.
According to CCTV News, Iran ruled out the possibility of a temporary ceasefire, stressing that the conflict must be ended permanently, and called for the formulation of a security passage agreement for the Strait of Hormuz, post-war reconstruction, and the lifting of sanctions, among others. Trump’s assessment was that although the proposal is meaningful, it is still not good enough.
