Two C-208 aircraft illegally entered China's Huangyan Island airspace. The Southern Theater Command issued warnings and escorted them away in accordance with laws and regulations.

A spokesperson for the Southern Theater Command, Major General Zhai Shichen of the Navy, said that on March 18, two C-208 aircraft of the Philippines unlawfully entered China’s airspace over Huangyan Island without approval from the Chinese government. The People’s Liberation Army of the Southern Theater Command organized naval and air forces to issue warnings and drive them away in accordance with law and regulations. The Philippine side’s actions seriously violate China’s sovereignty and are highly likely to trigger misunderstandings and misjudgments. We urge the Philippines to immediately stop infringing and provocative acts. Units of the theater command remain on high alert at all times and will resolutely safeguard China’s sovereignty, security, and regional peace and stability. (Southern Theater Command)
