Apple may open Siri to external AI assistants
On March 27, tech reporter Mark Gurman posted on March 26 local time that Apple plans to open Siri to external AI assistants, aiming to strengthen the iPhone’s position as an AI platform. Insiders said Apple is preparing to make this change as part of a comprehensive Siri upgrade in the upcoming iOS 27 operating system update. Through its partnership with OpenAI, Siri can already connect to ChatGPT, but Apple will now also allow connections to other competing products.
