Zhejiang: By 2026, the ratio between the highest and lowest per capita disposable income of residents in prefecture-level cities will be reduced to about 1.5.

The Zhejiang Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government have recently issued the Work Plan on Advancing Common Prosperity Through First-Mover Demonstration by Deepening Urban-Rural Integration Driven by the “Ten Million Project,” Narrowing the “Three Major Gaps,” in 2026. According to the Work Plan, in 2026, the comprehensive carrying capacity of county-level towns will be significantly enhanced, the “Poetic and Picturesque Zhejiang” and beautiful rural areas will be accelerated in their construction, an integrated pattern of urban and rural development will be basically formed, residents’ incomes will rise steadily, and inland mountainous and island counties will have their endogenous drivers significantly strengthened. Throughout the province, the urbanization rate of the resident population will reach around 76.5%, the coverage rate of beautiful rural areas will reach above 80%, residents’ income growth will keep pace with economic growth, the ratio of per-capita disposable income between urban and rural residents will be reduced to around 1.8, and the disparity between the highest and lowest per-capita disposable incomes among prefecture-level cities will be reduced to around 1.5.
