Logistics AI: Three Scenarios That Can Drive Change

Abstract generation in progress

In the past two years, I’ve been looking for an answer: is there anything in logistics that can’t be done without AI, and where AI can bring about a huge change?

Because I’m not satisfied with AI doing tasks like automatically recording orders, handling customer complaint phone calls, scheduling dispatch plans, or generating statistical reports—things people can already do, where AI just helps do them better.

Logistics is a service industry with enormous scale—dispersed across every corner of the physical world—where all kinds of situations, big and small, happen every second, dynamic communication between people is needed at all times, and it relies on labor-intensive work. I firmly believe that in a service industry like this, AI can do many things that were impossible before, and can change logistics at its root.
