Cheng Lih-wen leads a delegation to Shanghai to begin mainland China visit itinerary
Xinhua News Agency reported that Kuomintang chairperson Zheng Liwen led a delegation and arrived at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport at noon, kicking off a visit to the mainland.
According to a report by the Central News Agency, Zheng Liwen arrived at Shanghai Hongqiao Airport on China Eastern Airlines flight FM852. After stepping out of the aircraft, Zheng Liwen waved to those there to meet her, and then shook hands with Chinese Communist Party officials, including Song Tao, director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the CPC Central Committee, and Jin Mei, director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of Shanghai.
Zheng Liwen’s mainland visit runs from April 7 to 12, lasting 6 days. According to the arrangements, after arriving in Shanghai, she will take the high-speed rail directly to Nanjing. It is expected that on the morning of the 8th, she will pay homage to Sun Yat-sen at the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum in Nanjing, and on the afternoon of the 8th, she will take the high-speed rail back to Shanghai. On the morning of the 9th, she is expected to hold a discussion with Taiwanese businesspeople. After concluding her Shanghai trip, she will go to Beijing on the same day.
It is understood that Zheng Liwen is expected to meet with Xi Jinping, General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee, on the 10th.
