On the 28th, the Fars Province Fajr Military District of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran issued a statement stating that Iranian security forces discovered and destroyed 122 cluster bombs dropped by American and Israeli warplanes in the suburbs and surrounding counties of Shiraz, the provincial capital. The statement pointed out that these cluster bombs were dropped a few days ago in areas such as Kafri Village in Shiraz, causing civilian casualties. Identification confirmed that the munitions were BLU-108 submunitions carried by U.S.-made CBU-105 cluster bombs. The notice said that these cluster bombs were dropped several days earlier in places such as Kafri village in Shiraz. The blasts caused casualties among local civilians.
