ME News announcement, on April 1 (UTC+8), Australia officially passed the “2025 Corporate Amendment (Digital Asset Framework) Act” on April 1, becoming the country’s first comprehensive digital asset regulatory legislation. The act requires crypto trading platforms and custody service providers (platforms that hold customers’ digital assets) to obtain an Australian Financial Services License and comply with existing financial services rules such as customer asset protection, standardized disclosure, preventing misleading conduct, and dispute resolution. At the same time, it adds two newly regulated categories: digital asset platforms and tokenized custody platforms. The transition period for obtaining a license is 6 months. (Source: Foresight News)
