Iran Situation | Trump: If Iran does not reach an agreement by Tuesday night, we will destroy its bridges and power plants.

U.S. President Trump warned on Monday that unless Tehran reaches an agreement to end the Iran war, he will order a large-scale attack on Iran’s civilian power plants and bridges on Tuesday evening.

Speaking at a press conference at the White House, Trump made the remarks after setting a deadline of 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on Tuesday, urging Iran to meet U.S. conditions. Trump demanded that Iran give up nuclear weapons and reopen the Strait of Hormuz. He emphasized that reopening the Strait of Hormuz is the top priority of the agreement, and he also said that tolls charged for ships transiting the strait should be collected by the United States rather than Iran.

Trump said, “The whole country can be destroyed in a single night, and that night could be tomorrow night.” He mentioned that the U.S. has already prepared a plan which, once triggered, would completely destroy every bridge inside Iran, completely cripple every power plant, and that the entire process would only take four hours, but he does not want this to happen.

Regarding criticism that attacking bridges and power plants amounts to committing war crimes, Trump said, “I’m not concerned. Do you know what war crimes are? Having nuclear weapons.”

Earlier, Iran responded to the U.S. proposal, indicating that it would refuse a temporary ceasefire and stressing that a permanent ceasefire is required. An Iranian military spokesman said that as long as the political leadership deems it appropriate, the military can continue the war.
