V22 – Pi Network: Shifting from "Ideas" to Clear "Rules of the Game"

When reviewing the upgrade roadmap from version 21 to 23, a standout point is that Pi Network is developing in a solid and systematic manner, even if the pace isn't the fastest.

If V21 focused on perfecting the technical foundation, V22 is regarded as the "first constitution" of the Pi Network ecosystem—the stage where operational rules begin to take clear shape.

According to the official roadmap, upgrades are proceeding step-by-step:
V21.2 was finalized on April 6, 2026.
V22.1 is set for April 22, 2026.
V23.0 is scheduled for May 18, 2026.

V22 marks a pivotal transformation: the ecosystem is moving away from the previous "wild west" state, where anyone could freely create tokens, projects only needed to draw up a roadmap to raise capital, or "pump and dump" schemes could easily occur.

Instead, V22 aims to establish much stricter standards:
Tokens wishing to survive long-term must prove actual value and practical utility.
Projects looking to grow must build functional applications rather than just stopping at an idea.
The Ecosystem seeking sustainability must be filtered from the roots, prioritizing quality over quantity.
This approach is similar to urban planning: it’s not about "anyone building whatever they want," but rather setting the rules and the layout first before allowing development. Although this may be slower than some other blockchains, it helps minimize the risk of chaos and protects long-term value for genuine participants.
A noteworthy point is that V22 is not the final destination. It is merely a crucial preparation step for V23—the version expected to introduce full smart contract support, turning the Pi ecosystem into a "true playground" for projects.

It can be understood simply as:
V22 = The Rules (Building the regulatory framework and token standards).
V23 = The Playground (The environment for projects to deploy and develop in reality).
Many might feel that Pi Network is "slow" or "unclear," but this strategy demonstrates an ambition to build a sustainable ecosystem where serious contributors with real value aren't disadvantaged by short-term speculators.
As the roadmap stays on track, what users are holding is not just an ordinary coin, but a stake in a meticulously curated ecosystem.

Conclusion: Going a bit slow is fine, as long as you are heading in the right direction and building on a solid foundation.
