The School of Silver-Haired Economy at the National University for the Elderly was established in Beijing on March 18. It is understood that the school mainly focuses on integrating elderly education with the silver-haired (silver-hair) industry, developing high-quality resources, and building a multi-tier and multi-type talent cultivation and training system, among other areas, to comprehensively serve the high-quality development of the silver-haired economy. Based on the national strategy to actively address population aging, the School of Silver-Haired Economy focuses on carrying out educational services that integrate policy research, standards development, skills training, talent cultivation, and industry-university-research collaboration. In the future, it will gradually form a curriculum system for the silver-haired economy, promote the development of disciplines and majors in the field, cultivate high-quality professional talent, and build an industry-education integration platform for the silver-haired economy. A reporter learned that since the National University for the Elderly was established in March 2023, through the implementation of a “three-year action plan,” it has already set up 82k grassroots learning sites nationwide.
