Bolivian military transport aircraft crashes, resulting in at least 20 deaths.

A reporter with China Central Television learned that on the 27th local time, a C-130 “Hercules” military transport aircraft carrying cash in Bolivia ran off the runway when it landed at El Alto International Airport, crashed onto city roads, and destroyed and damaged multiple cars and trucks. Police confirmed that at least 20 people have died. A statement from Bolivia’s Ministry of Defense said that the banknotes carried on the crashed aircraft “have no serial numbers,” and therefore have no value. The cause of the accident is not yet clear; according to preliminary estimates, the main cause is severe weather. At present, hospitals in El Alto have launched blood donation drives to help rescue injured people. (CCTV News)
