On the 28th local time, a spokesperson for the Central Command of Iran’s armed forces, Khatam al-Anbiya, said that in the early hours of that day, Iran’s military struck a support vessel belonging to the U.S. Navy in waters off the port of Salalah in the southern part of Oman. The spokesperson also emphasized that Iran fully respects Oman’s national sovereignty, and noted that the location where the vessel was attacked was still some distance away from the port of Salalah.
