So guys, lately I've been seeing a lot of people talking about apps for mining cryptocurrencies directly from their phones. I decided to do some research on this and found quite a few interesting things.
There are some apps that are pretty popular out there. CryptoTab is one of the oldest in this area — you install it, activate mining, and it starts running automatically. There are also folks using cloud mining apps, like those offered by major exchanges. In that case, you're not actually mining on your phone but renting processing power and receiving rewards. StormGain is another one that shows up a lot, although it requires reboots every 4 hours, which is a bit annoying. There's also NiceHash, which offers a nice profit calculator, and Bitdeer for those looking for something more professional.
Now, the truth is that many people are divided on whether it's really worth it. Some think that apps for mining cryptocurrencies on your phone aren't worth it because the competition is huge, you need to keep it running about 8 hours a day, and there's a risk of scams. Others see it differently — for them, it's an easy and accessible way to make some extra cash. I think it really depends on your goal.
A lot of people ask me how to get started. Basically, you choose an app, install it, create an account, verify your identity if needed, set which coin you want to mine, enter your wallet address, and that's it. On iPhone, it's more complicated because of Apple's restrictions, but cloud apps work there too.
Regarding which cryptocurrency is easiest to mine, apparently Monero, Dogecoin, Vertcoin, and Ravencoin are the most accessible for mobile mining in 2026. But then you also need to consider your energy costs in your region and the coin’s market price.
The part that not many talk about is that mining a whole Bitcoin takes about 10 minutes with professional equipment. Imagine doing that with a smartphone? You’d need a LOT of time or just use these cloud services. In the end, I think it’s more worthwhile to use mining apps if you have a clear strategy and don’t expect to get rich quick. It’s more like a side income.
