Abstract generation in progress

The price increase momentum and magnitude of this round of memory are beyond Xiaomi’s earlier expectations. On April 3, a reporter learned from Xiaomi that the company has officially raised prices for some of its smartphone products. Xiaomi’s explanation is that, in order to ensure the normal supply of products and stable quality, it has no choice but to adjust the suggested retail prices of certain currently sold products.

It is understood that this round of adjustments involves three models: starting from April 11, the REDMI K90 Pro Max will be increased by 200 yuan; for Turbo 5 and Turbo 5 Max, the new year’s promotional offer will be canceled; and for the 512G memory variant, subsidies of 200 yuan will continue.

Judging from Xiaomi’s pricing adjustment moves in this round, compared with other smartphone brands, Xiaomi shows characteristics of later timing of the increase, smaller increase, and fewer models involved. Also, this round of pricing adjustments temporarily does not affect the main brand.

Xiaomi has made it clear that it will do its best to keep the impact of the memory price increase within the smallest possible range of models.

Today, Lei Jun’s reply at Xiaomi stated that the intensity of this round of memory price increases truly exceeds expectations. Compared with the same version’s memory price last year, it has surged by nearly four times in Q1. The 12+512 configuration has gone up by about 1,500 yuan, and the 16+1T has increased in a truly outrageous way, which has had a significant impact on the REDMI that has always been priced at extreme value for money. So we have no choice but to make a small increase in the retail prices of some models or restore them to their original prices. We hope everyone can understand.

In recent days, multiple domestic smartphone brands have announced price increases for some of their models. OPPO, vivo, Honor, and other mainstream brands have all seen different degrees of increases in the prices of certain models.

From September 2025 to now, driven by factors such as a surge in demand and tight production capacity, the global memory market shortage has widened. Memory chip prices have continued to rise and have recently fallen into high-level sideways volatility. In recent period, the trend of price increases has gradually spread to areas such as smartphones and other smart and digital products.
