Agricultural "New Technologies + New Equipment" outline a vibrant "Spring Farming Technology Map," transforming traditional farming scenes into smart agriculture sites.
CCTV.com News: During the Qingming season, the wheat grows long in three stages. Since this spring, across different regions, efforts have been made to implement the subsidy policies for strengthening seedlings and key technical measures. The wheat seedling conditions and growth progress in the main producing areas are basically on par with the norm for the year.
According to the latest agricultural situation coordination from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, at present in the Huanghuaihai and Northwest regions, winter wheat is pulling the joint and developing the booting stage, entering the critical period for yield formation.
During the critical period of water and fertilizer management, how to make irrigation more precise and scientific has led local areas to try new approaches. In the farmland of Renze District in Xingtai City, Hebei Province, modern smart sprinkler irrigation equipment rotates flexibly, distributing water evenly across the fields. This achieves full coverage of irrigated areas, reducing the workload for farmers.
In Shandong, this year it is expected to promote about 3 million mu of water-fertilizer integration. In a manufacturing enterprise in Wucheng County, technicians are currently carrying out pre-shipment testing and debugging on a batch of smart water-fertilizer equipment that is about to be put into spring management.
Today, this smart water-fertilizer equipment has already been deployed in the fields. Farmers do not have to “sit and guard” the field edge like in previous years; instead, through remote operation, they can deliver a customized “nutrition meal” to the wheat seedlings. “One mu of land only needs 20 cubic meters of water. Not only does it reduce water use by 70%, it can also apply fertilizer precisely according to the different growth stages of the crop.” Qu Yan-kui, an administrator of the land share professional cooperative in Quzhuang Village, Wucheng County, told reporters in this way.
During spring farming, financial services also provide strong support for farmers. In Jinchang, Gansu, this year a green credit channel for spring farming has been opened. The Postal Savings Bank has issued 420 million yuan in loans for spring farming and preparations for farming, benefiting more than 1,500 farm households, enabling them to rent and purchase new agricultural machinery in advance, and also ensuring that agricultural inputs are delivered on time.
Gaoyanrong, deputy general manager of the retail finance department of the Jinchang City branch of the Postal Savings Bank, said that financial services conduct precise screening of farmers’ funding needs for spring farming and preparations, and extend financial services to the front line of production by relying on distinctive products such as “Agriculture and Livestock Loan” and “Industry Loan.”
At present, there is still more than a month before winter wheat is harvested in the main producing areas. The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs will guide localities to implement measures such as scientific irrigation and “one spray for three protections,” doing everything possible to win the first battle of annual grain production.
More than 80% of national early-rice seedling transplanting has been done, and more than 20% has been sown and transplanted
This year, China’s intended planting area for spring-sown grains has increased slightly and remained stable overall. Supplies of agricultural inputs are basically sufficient, and spring farming and preparations are progressing in an orderly manner. As of now, early-rice seedling raising has been completed for more than 80%, and more than 20% has been sown and transplanted, with progress year-on-year staying the same.
In the farmland of Huangzhou Town, Anyi County, Jiangxi Province, three drones evenly scatter early-rice seeds according to pre-set flight routes. Pilots locate the work plots through BeiDou navigation and automatically generate flight routes. The sowing accuracy can reach the centimeter level, enabling precise and efficient sowing.
In Qiyang County, Hunan, this year for the first time large-scale promotion is underway for smart rice transplanters with synchronized side-deep fertilization. Based on national and provincial agricultural machinery purchase subsidy policies, local authorities provide an additional cumulative subsidy of 10,000 yuan per machine, bringing the total subsidy ratio to over 40%. Since the start of this year, it has driven farmers to purchase over 200 units. This agricultural machinery is equipped with a soil depth sensing system that can sense in real time how soft or hard the soil layer is, automatically adjusts the depth, and keeps error within 1 centimeter. It is especially suitable for the characteristics of southern paddy fields where the soil layer is complex, with varying elevations and unevenness.
As spring farming moves into its peak period, taking advantage of clear weather, on April 5 at the comprehensive wharf in Yaojiagang, Zhijiang City, Hubei Province, about 1,500 tons of fertilizer departed from here bound for places such as Jiujiang, Jiangxi and Wuxi, Jiangsu, to fully ensure fertilizer supply for spring farming.
Qu Dan, director of the port affairs center of Ninggang Logistics Co., Ltd. in Zhijiang City, Hubei Province, said, “We can choose the most economical and fastest routes flexibly based on the different needs of different places to deliver fertilizer to the fields, without delaying farming time.”
It is understood that, in response to the continuous rainy weather conditions in southern regions, Zhijiang local authorities have also adopted a “one container all the way” multimodal transport plan to effectively prevent fertilizer from getting wet and caking, and to fully ensure fertilizer performance stability. Since this year began, they have completed transportation for 4,700 containers, with a cumulative shipment of about 130,000 tons of fertilizer.
A full inventory of smart agricultural machinery—the main force in spring farming
During spring farming, across the vast fields, a team of “smart iron ox” agricultural machines is roaring into action. They turn traditional farming scenes into a smart agriculture setting filled with a sense of technology.
Experts say that, in spring farming, agricultural machinery commonly used can be divided into two major categories: tillage and land preparation equipment for plowing and leveling, and sowing and transplanting equipment. Among them, tractors are the power “engine heads,” responsible for attaching different implements. Now, they have even achieved autonomous driving. With high-precision navigation and positioning systems, autonomous tractors can control driving error within 2.5 centimeters, and even make independent decisions.
Smart seeders can monitor sowing volume, uniformity, and sowing depth in real time to ensure precise positioning. As for unmanned rice transplanters, with BeiDou navigation, they solve the problem in traditional transplanters where after turning, the “rows” are not accurate—making the seedlings rows straight. Operators can manage tasks easily via mobile phones or tablets. On the screen, data such as operating tracks, fertilizer application amounts, and seedling emergence rates jump in real time. Planting becomes a “precise task.”
