Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson: U.S. rescue operation for the pilot may be an attempt to steal enriched uranium

Local time on April 6, Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Baghaii, answering questions at a press conference held that day, said that the action by the United States, which rescued its pilot on local time April 5, constitutes an infringement of Iran’s airspace and raises many questions. The U.S. pilot is allegedly located in an area in Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province, while the area where the U.S. carried out the rescue operation is in central Iran—far apart from the former. Baghaii emphasized that the U.S. operation could be a “cover operation” intended to steal enriched uranium; this possibility should not be ignored. For the United States, this operation would be a “catastrophic scandal.” (CCTV News)
