** 【Caixin Network】** Huawei’s top management has undergone changes. On March 31, Huawei disclosed in its 2025 annual report that members of its board of directors were adjusted between 2025 and March 2026. The chairman remains Liang Hua. Vice chairmen Xu Zhijun and Meng Wanzhou remain unchanged, but Huawei elder statesman Hu Houkun, who had served as vice chairman for many years, has been reassigned as a director. Wang Tao, who had previously served as executive director, was elected as the new vice chairman.

On the same day, Huawei announced that, under the company’s rotational chairmen system, from April 1, 2026 to September 30, 2026, Wang Tao will serve as the acting rotational chairman and preside over the company’s board of directors and the executive committee of the board of directors.

In its earlier years, Huawei implemented a rotational chair system for its executive management team (EMT). In 2011, it was upgraded to a rotational CEO system. The three vice chairmen—Guo Ping, Xu Zhijun, and Hu Houkun—served as CEO in rotation for each term of 6 months. During their rotation, they served as the company’s top person responsible for operational management and crisis management, and were accountable for the company’s survival and development. In 2018, as Liang Hua took over from Sun Yafang as chairman, Huawei’s CFO and Ren Zhengfei’s daughter, Meng Wanzhou, was elected as vice chairman, and Huawei began implementing the rotational chairmen system for its board of directors. The rotational leadership still involved Guo Ping, Xu Zhijun, and Hu Houkun, with each term of service still lasting 6 months.
