China Nuclear Power's first-quarter electricity generation reached 58.1 billion kWh, a year-on-year decrease of 2.73%.
Guandian News: On April 6, China Nuclear Energy Power Co., Ltd. released an announcement on its electricity generation completion for the first quarter of 2026.
According to the announcement, in the first quarter, China Nuclear Power’s cumulative grid-connected commercial generation was 58.109 billion kWh, down 2.73% year over year; grid-delivered electricity was 54.925 billion kWh, down 2.70% year over year.
By segment, for the nuclear power segment, cumulative generation was 47.855 billion kWh, down 3.29% year over year. For the new energy segment, cumulative generation was 10.254 billion kWh, down 0.05% year over year.
In terms of nuclear power, the year-over-year decline in generation was mainly due to the nuclear power units having more days under maintenance than in the same period last year. Performance varied across different bases: Qinshan Nuclear Power increased 11.95% year over year, Zhangzhou Nuclear Power surged by 76.03%, while Fuqing Nuclear Power saw its decline reach 25.12%.
In terms of new energy, wind power generation was 4.880 billion kWh, down 5.82% year over year; photovoltaic generation was 5.375 billion kWh, up 5.83% year over year. As of the end of the reporting period, China Nuclear Power’s controlling stake had 60.2167 million kW of installed capacity in operation.
