Announcement on Ongoing Governance of Unauthorized or Improper Use of AI Short-Drama Materials

Content compliance is a standing requirement of Hongguo Short Dramas for producers. To regulate the creation order of AI short dramas and protect original and lawful rights and interests, the platform firmly cracks down on improper use of AI short-drama materials, unauthorized appropriation, and other violations, and continues to carry out content governance work across all dimensions.

In the first quarter of this year, the platform has cumulatively removed 1,718 episodes of manhua dramas that violate the platform’s governance rules. In response to the recent frequent issues of improper use of AI short-drama materials, the platform has launched a special campaign for centralized governance. To date, the platform has completed a comprehensive review of 15k works and, in accordance with applicable rules, has taken action against 670 noncompliant works.

Typical Case 1: Unauthorized Use of Cartoon Characters

《杰*********行》 was found to have unlawfully used cartoon likenesses widely known to the public. Within the review period, the producer failed to provide valid authorization proof. The platform has removed the drama in accordance with the rules.

Typical Case 2: Unauthorized Use of an AI Brand Image

《豆生》《豆生第二季》 are suspected of unlawfully using a certain AI brand image and trademark identifiers. The producer did not provide evidence of compliant use on time. The platform has removed the two-season drama sets.

Typical Case 3: Unauthorized Use of Game Original Character Imagery

《我**************班》 was reported for being highly similar to an original game character. After comparison by the platform, this work shares highly similar character settings with the rights-claiming work of the complainant, and many details of the dialogue are also highly similar. The drama has been removed in accordance with the platform’s governance rules.

Typical Case 4: Unauthorized Use of an Actor’s Likeness

During the platform’s governance process, it was found that a role in the short drama 《心**爱》 has an AI-generated likeness that is highly similar to that of a certain actor. In addition, the producer did not provide the relevant evidence for compliant use of the materials as required by the platform. The drama has been removed in accordance with the platform’s governance rules.

For content that is seriously harmful or repeatedly violates the rules, and for producers, the platform will take measures such as removal, account bans, termination of cooperation, and even legal liability in accordance with the law and regulations.

Hongguo Short Dramas will continue to deepen governance of AI short-drama content, improve review and accountability mechanisms, and work with the industry to build a healthy and compliant creation ecosystem. At the same time, we also welcome rights holders and the general public to actively supervise, report, and provide oversight. Once a lead is verified, the platform will handle it immediately.
