On March 26, 2026, People’s Finance News reported that China’s Special Envoy for Middle East Issues Zhai Jun met with Russian Ambassador to China Morkov to exchange views on the current situation in the Middle East. Zhai Jun stated that the current regional situation remains tense, with spillover effects continuously emerging, attracting high concern from the international community. Both China and Russia, as permanent members of the UN Security Council, support a ceasefire and the initiation of dialogue and negotiations, and should work together to uphold international fairness and justice, jointly promoting the de-escalation of regional tensions.
