Odaily Planet Daily reports that Google is about to reach an agreement to provide over $5 billion in funding support for the data center project developed by Nexus Data Centers in Texas, USA, which will be leased to Anthropic upon completion. The project spans approximately 2,800 acres and is expected to deliver around 500 megawatts of computing power as early as the end of 2026, with plans for further expansion.

The report states that the data center will rely on a natural gas pipeline and will be powered by its own gas turbines to reduce dependence on the public power grid. Google has previously provided TPU computing support to Anthropic through Google Cloud, and this financing is seen as a further extension of their collaboration.
