Trump on War and Stock Market: I Expected a Bigger Drop

According to The Wall Street Journal, U.S. President Donald Trump spoke at the ‘International Institute of Finance Priority Summit’ held in Miami Beach, discussing the war with Iran that has lasted nearly a month. When addressing the war and the stock market, he stated that he initially expected the conflict to have a greater impact on the stock market. He said, ‘I thought the drop would be larger.’ He also added, ‘I thought oil prices would rise higher.’ The Wall Street Journal noted that the S&P 500 index has fallen for the fifth consecutive week, reaching its lowest level since August of last year.
