Increase Loan Limits Chengdu Introduces New Public Housing Fund Policy
Xinhua News Agency Chengdu, March 24 (Reporter Li Qianwei) On March 24, the Chengdu Housing Provident Fund Management Center held a press conference to announce new policies, including the “Notice on Further Optimizing Housing Provident Fund Policies,” “Notice on Further Supporting Housing Consumption,” “Notice on Further Optimizing Major Disease Withdrawal Policies for Housing Provident Fund,” and “Notice on Adjusting Policies Related to Housing Provident Fund Loans.” These policies involve increasing loan limits, adjusting the number of loans, and other six aspects.
Increase loan limits. The maximum loan amount for individual depositors has been raised from 600,000 yuan to 800,000 yuan, and for joint depositors from 1 million yuan to 1.2 million yuan. Additionally, for purchasing existing homes and homes acquired through house expropriation or demolition, the maximum loan limit is increased by 20%, meaning the highest loan for a single depositor household can be up to 960,000 yuan, and for a joint depositor household up to 1.44 million yuan.
Adjust the number of loans. From March 25, 2026, to December 31, 2026, depositors applying for a housing provident fund loan for a new home, with no outstanding provident fund loans under their name, can apply without restrictions on the number of loans.
Optimize first-time homebuyer recognition. When depositors apply for a provident fund loan for a new home, if there are no outstanding provident fund loans under their name, they can be treated as first-time homebuyers, with a minimum down payment ratio of 20% and eligible for first-time homebuyer loan interest rates.
Support urban renewal withdrawals. For housing involved in urban renewal projects within the city, the homeowner and spouse can apply to withdraw the available balance of their housing provident fund account within two years after paying their personal renovation costs.
Increase support for major disease withdrawals. Depositors, their spouses, parents, and children suffering from major diseases can apply to withdraw the full available balance of their housing provident fund account to cover medical expenses, with no limit on the number of withdrawals.
Support for parking space purchases. After purchasing a new home, depositors who buy a new parking space in the same project within one year can apply once within two years from the registration of the parking space sales contract to withdraw the available balance of their and their spouse’s housing provident fund accounts. The withdrawal amount is determined by the transaction price specified in the online signed contract for the parking space, with a maximum of 100,000 yuan per parking space.
Except for the sixth policy, which will be implemented from April 8, the other five policies will take effect from March 25.
