Samsung's New Galaxy Connect Mobile Management App Causes Some Win11 Devices Unable to Access C Drive, Microsoft Urgently Removes It
Microsoft and Samsung jointly announced that due to a critical system issue with the latest version of the Galaxy Connect phone management app on Windows 11, the app has been temporarily removed from the Microsoft Store.
According to reports, affected devices mainly include several Samsung laptop models such as NP750XGJ, NP750XGL, NP754XGJ, NP754XFG, NP754XGK, DM500SGA, DM500TDA, DM500TGA, and DM501SGA. Users who install and enable the Galaxy Connect app and try to activate the “Screen/File Sharing” feature may experience inaccessibility to the C drive on their computers.
To prevent the issue from spreading further, Microsoft has taken the Galaxy Connect app off the Microsoft Store and stopped distributing it to new users. Meanwhile, Samsung has re-uploaded an older version of the Galaxy Connect app on their official website to prevent more devices from being affected.
For devices already impacted, Microsoft and Samsung are evaluating repair strategies and collaborating on solutions. However, as of now, neither company has announced an official tool or patch for system recovery.
