Zhuochuang Information: Geopolitical Factors Provide Strong Support, Methanol Market Continues to Rise

Recently, the methanol market has been trending upward overall. Taking Inner Mongolia methanol as an example, as of March 20th, the average price in Inner Mongolia was 2,242.5 yuan/ton, up 1.54% month-on-month. During the week, influenced by factors such as continued procurement by some olefin companies, overall futures rising, and high freight costs in certain regions, the trading center of gravity has moved higher. Looking ahead, on the supply side, the market is currently operating at high levels, with some producers still needing to sell. On the demand side, traditional downstream demand is moderate, but some olefin companies still expect to source externally. Additionally, the arbitrage window between the mainland and ports remains intermittently open, so overall market demand remains decent. It is expected that the trading center will fluctuate at high levels in the near future, with continued attention needed on geopolitical factors and futures trends. (Zhuochuang Information)
