Tech Home, February 27 — Foreign media 9to5Mac reports that Apple will launch MacBook Pro models equipped with the M5 Pro / Max chips during a series of special events starting next Monday.

Tech Home notes that previous reports indicate the M5 Pro / Max chips will use a brand-new packaging process, allowing the corresponding MacBook Pro models to support more flexible CPU and GPU core configurations. For example, users can choose a basic CPU configuration while maximizing GPU cores to meet high graphics performance requirements.

The M5 Pro, M5 Max, and M5 Ultra will utilize server-grade SoIC packaging technology. Apple will use a packaging process called SoIC mH (molding horizontal packaging) to improve yield rates and thermal performance, with a design that separates the CPU and GPU.

Additionally, it is expected that the M5 Pro / Max MacBook Pro will continue the current mold design. By the end of this year, Apple will also release M6 Pro / Max MacBook Pro models with a completely new mold. The new mold is expected to introduce features such as OLED displays and built-in 5G cellular connectivity. Therefore, users planning to purchase a new device should proceed with caution.
