Ask AI · How can enterprises leverage AI+ initiatives to enhance international competitiveness?

Beijing Business Daily (Reporter Ma Huanhuan, Li Jiaxue) — On March 24, KPMG released the “14th Five-Year Plan” Industry Impact Outlook Report, focusing on key sectors such as finance, technology, industrial manufacturing, automotive, healthcare and life sciences, energy, consumer goods, real estate, and transportation. The report systematically analyzes the opportunities and challenges faced by each industry and forecasts development prospects during the 14th Five-Year period.

In the energy sector, the report states that the industry will symbiotically integrate with artificial intelligence technology, promoting the development of a new “computing-electrical synergy” paradigm. The energy consumption structure is shifting toward green energy dominance. Breakthroughs in new energy storage and all-solid-state batteries are emerging, with resource regulation transitioning from auxiliary methods to key elements supporting new power systems.

In the technology sector, the report predicts that foundational research in AI, quantum technology, and other fields will continue to intensify, accelerating breakthroughs across the entire chain, including integrated circuits, industrial mother machines, and high-end instruments. Emerging and future industries are transitioning from cultivation to initial industrialization, opening trillion-dollar market opportunities.

Cai Wei, Director of the KPMG China Economic Research Institute, stated, “The 14th Five-Year period is a critical phase for China’s deep restructuring of its economy and industrial framework. Deep integration of technological innovation with the real economy is the core theme. On one hand, the ‘re-industrialization’ of traditional industries will effectively support the macroeconomic fundamentals; on the other hand, the rapid emergence of new productive forces and the ‘AI+’ initiatives are reshaping production paradigms with disruptive power, significantly enhancing the safety and resilience of China’s industrial supply chains.”

Jiang Liqin, Partner and Head of Client and Business Development at KPMG China, also pointed out that for enterprises, grasping the empowerment of “AI+” and digital-green transformation is not only a necessary response to the trends of the times but also a strategic move to rebuild international competitiveness.
