According to KCNA report 23, the first session of the 15th Supreme People’s Assembly of North Korea was held in Pyongyang on the 22nd, once again electing Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea, as Chairman of the State Affairs Commission. The meeting elected a new State Affairs Commission, with Choe Yong-won as First Vice Chairman and Pak Thae-gon as Vice Chairman. A total of 687 deputies were elected, with Choe Yong-won elected as Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Supreme People’s Assembly, and Kim Hyeong-jip and Ri San-gwon elected as Vice Chairmen. The meeting appointed cabinet members, with Pak Thae-gon elected as Premier. At the request of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, Pak Thae-gon nominated cabinet members, and they were approved unanimously. (Xinhua)
