New Mississippi packaging plant will move workers from older IP site

International Paper (NYSE: IP) plans a $225 million investment to build a new 468,000-square-foot sustainable packaging facility in Rankin County, Mississippi. This greenfield project aims to modernize its manufacturing footprint, reduce structural costs, improve reliability, and enhance product quality and service capabilities. Construction is expected to start in June 2026, with operations commencing in Q4 2027, and employees from the existing Richland plant will transition to the new site.
