China Chemical News reported that recently, Sailun Group’s liquid gold tires successfully equipped the latest BYD Sea Lion 06 fast-charging model.

“Compared to the previous generation, the new BYD Sea Lion model offers ultra-long range and rapid fast-charging advantages, which also set higher requirements for tires,” said Jia Weijie, Director of the Expert Technical Committee of Sailun Group. The liquid gold tires feature a low rolling resistance profile design, reducing tire deformation and hysteresis loss, effectively lowering rolling resistance and extending driving range, while also shortening braking distance. In terms of tread design, the tires use a three-dimensional angular cutting design, increasing the rigidity of the tread blocks during driving and turning, providing quicker handling response, and optimizing the tread pitch layout and ground pressure distribution to improve noise reduction and comfort. Additionally, the structural design has been reinforced to enhance durability, reliability, and impact resistance to handle various complex road conditions.

Jia Weijie explained that the liquid gold tires adopt Sailun’s innovative liquid-phase mixing process, which combines rubber and fillers in a liquid state, solving the industry’s “devil’s triangle” problem and improving safety, energy efficiency, and wear resistance. The tires boast three core advantages: easy handling, long endurance, and high safety, while also balancing quiet comfort and durability.

“We are conducting differentiated and customized R&D for different BYD models, building a comprehensive tire support system covering domestic scenarios and global markets,” said Wang Yongxiang, Assistant President of Sailun Group. He added that the future of the new energy vehicle tire industry will develop in six directions: low rolling resistance, high wear resistance, high safety, quiet comfort, green low-carbon, and intelligentization. Sailun will continue to deepen technological innovation, accelerate product development, and strengthen local partnerships, making Chinese tires renowned in the global market.
