Hainan Financial Management Bureau Reminder: Be Vigilant Against Illegal Financial Activities in the Name of "Hainan Digital Asset Exchange" and Similar Entities
Odaily Planet Daily reports that on March 18, the Hainan Provincial Local Financial Supervision Bureau officially issued a risk warning, directly pointing out that current illegal financial activities are being carried out under the guise of “Hainan International Data Asset Exchange,” “Hainan Data Exchange,” “Hainan Maritime Exchange,” and other names, involving the illegal trading of RWA real-world assets and RDA real data assets. This exposes the non-compliance disguises of some unlawful entities and reaffirms the regulatory red line for domestic RWA tokenization activities.
The core of this risk warning from the Hainan Provincial Local Financial Supervision Bureau is to completely deny the legal status of the “Hainan International Data Asset Exchange,” clearly informing the market that this institution has never been approved within Hainan Province. Additionally, the regulatory authorities have clearly defined the compliance threshold for establishing trading venues: any trading venue within Hainan Province must be approved by the provincial government. Without approval from the authorized department, market entities are not only prohibited from using exclusive terms like “Exchange” or “Trading Center” in their registered names but also from engaging in any activities related to trading venues.
