3M expands fire portfolio through $1.95 billion Madison Fire & Rescue deal

3M has announced the acquisition of Madison Fire & Rescue for $1.95 billion through a new joint venture with Bain Capital. 3M will contribute its Scott Safety division to the new company, holding a 50.1% stake, and aims to expand its safety portfolio and enhance margins. The deal is expected to close in the second half of 2026, combining Scott Safety’s SCBA solutions with Madison Fire & Rescue’s extensive product portfolio for firefighters and first responders.
