Abstract generation in progress

On March 20th, the day of the Lunar Spring Equinox, Guangdong Vocational and Technical College of Agriculture, Industry, and Commerce held a voluntary tree-planting activity and the unveiling ceremony of the Industry-Education Integration Practice Base at the Orchard Training Base in Zengcheng Campus. School leaders, teachers and student representatives, and enterprise representatives jointly planted a batch of high-quality local lychee saplings in Zengcheng.

School-enterprise collaboration builds together, craftsmanship spirit enters the campus

The lychee trees planted during this event are recognized as national geographical indication products, leading varieties in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs’ fruit horticulture category, and part of the “China One Village, One Product Industry Promotion Plan.” They were donated to the school by Guangzhou Changjian Agricultural Development Co., Ltd. for campus greening and practical training.

A simple yet solemn tree donation ceremony was held at the scene. Enterprise representatives presented donation plaques to the school, and the school awarded honorary certificates to the enterprise. Subsequently, both parties jointly unveiled the “Lychee Production and Preservation Practice Base.”

It is reported that the person in charge of the donating company, Lu Peiyi, is a recipient of Guangzhou’s 2025 “Yangcheng Craftsman” training program. As an agricultural entrepreneur rooted in Zengcheng for many years, Lu Peiyi said, “Follow-up management is also very important. In the next two years, we will regularly visit the school to check on the lychee growth and bring Zengcheng’s local lychee planting experience to the campus.”

Huang Hannan, Secretary of the Party Branch of the Tropical Agriculture and Forestry College, stated that Zengcheng is an important lychee production area in Lingnan. He hopes that the industry-education co-built lychee production and preservation practice base will provide talent and technical support for the high-quality development of Zengcheng’s lychee industry.

Students and teachers plant together, taking a good “Labor Education Class”

At the tree-planting site, school leaders, teachers, students, and enterprise representatives jointly planted the first “Xianjinfeng” lychee tree. They dug, filled, watered, and stabilized the roots under professional guidance, carefully completing each step. “Xianjinfeng” symbolizes advanced dedication. The school named this lychee grove the Party Member Vanguard Forest, with each tree bearing a dedicated plaque, planted and cared for by outstanding Party members and students, indicating the variety, planting date, and caretaker.

Chen Linan, counselor of the Tropical Agriculture and Forestry College, said that after the base is completed, students can learn lychee cultivation and preservation techniques in the field, and also experience the craftsmanship inheritance of “Yangcheng Craftsmen” up close, improving their professional skills through labor practice.

It is reported that the college will establish a “Lychee Care Interest Group,” with teachers and students jointly responsible for daily management, integrating the care process into relevant professional practical courses.
