Graham Allison: America's Alliance System Is Now Dangerous | China Development Forum
Caixin March 22 — During the China Development High-Level Forum 2026 Annual Meeting held at Diaoyutai State Guesthouse in Beijing, Graham Allison, founding dean of Harvard Kennedy School and the most prominent proponent of the “Thucydides Trap” concept, told Caixin that although there are many uncertainties remaining in the rest of 2026, he is hopeful that China-U.S. relations will enter a “more positive framework.”
Daniel Kritenbrink, partner at The Asia Group, a U.S. consulting firm, and former Assistant Secretary of State for East Asian and Pacific Affairs, said he maintains a “cautiously optimistic” attitude toward China-U.S. relations.
