Guangnong Sugar Industry Daqiao Sugar Company: Party Building Empowers Development, Sugarcane Crushing Volume Breaks 1.2 Million Tons for the First Time

On March 18, Guangxi Agricultural Investment Sugar Group Co., Ltd. Daqiao Sugar Factory announced a major breakthrough: as of that day, the sugarcane crushing volume successfully exceeded 1.2 million tons, breaking the highest record since the factory was established in 1982. The total crushing volume for the season is expected to reach over 1.4 million tons, potentially setting a new historical high again. The daily crushing capacity remains stable at over 10,000 tons. Key indicators such as white sugar quality, bagging rate of bagasse, and waste molasses yield have all reached historic bests. Behind this impressive achievement is the vibrant practice of Party leadership guiding the integration of production and management at Daqiao Sugar, as well as the collective efforts of all Party members, cadres, and staff to overcome difficulties and work diligently.

Party Leadership Strengthens Roots Through Industry and Agriculture Cooperation

Walking into the sugarcane fields of Daqiao Sugar, neat mechanized roads extend into the farmland. Development of the industry depends fundamentally on raw materials. In recent years, the company’s Party Committee has seized the opportunity presented by local government policies to phase out eucalyptus and promote sugarcane planting. Decisive actions and scientific decision-making led to the formulation of a support policy of 950 yuan per mu for eucalyptus-to-sugarcane conversion, greatly expanding the sugarcane industry. From 2022 to 2025, the company invested approximately 78.5 million yuan to transform 8,263 acres of eucalyptus forests. Over four years, the planting area in the sugarcane zone increased from 180,000 to 280,000 acres, laying a solid foundation for stable and high yields.

In serving farmers, the company’s Party Committee has implemented initiatives such as “Sugar Industry Vanguard · Grid Management,” the “Party Building Connects Hearts · Sweet Homes” campaign, and others. They formed Party member pioneer teams and regularly provided field guidance to ensure the quality of raw sugarcane from the source. During the 2025/2026 crushing season, the company supported over 12,000 sugarcane farmers, helping them generate approximately 864 million yuan in income, truly achieving “mutual benefits for the enterprise and increased income for farmers.”

Technological Upgrades Empowerment, Significant Improvements in Quality and Efficiency

Facing aging equipment and high energy consumption, the Party Committee of Daqiao Sugar prioritized technological breakthroughs as the main battlefield for Party members’ contributions. They formed special technical renovation teams led by key technical Party members to tackle production bottlenecks and energy consumption issues. During the 2025 maintenance period, the technical team led upgrades and renovations of pressing and boiler equipment, while simultaneously optimizing clarification and neutralization processes. After continuous efforts, daily sugarcane crushing capacity increased steadily from 8,000 to over 10,000 tons, and the bagging rate of bagasse reached 7.43%, setting a new record.

Process optimization was carried out simultaneously. Through repeated testing and validation, the company successfully improved clarification processes, effectively reducing production costs. The sugar boiling system was continuously optimized, reducing sugarcane molasses losses, with waste molasses yield dropping to 3.09%, a decrease of 0.61 percentage points compared to the previous season.

Quality control reached new heights. At key positions on the production line, 15 “Party Member Vanguard Posts” were prominently displayed. The Party Committee led efforts to strictly control key processes such as clarification and neutralization, establishing daily tracking and weekly analysis mechanisms for quality indicators to ensure stable and controllable production. As of March 18, the first-grade white sugar yield remained at 100%, with 95.6% of beverage-grade sugar produced—an increase of 14.86 percentage points from the previous season—and the quality of white sugar set a new record since the factory’s founding.

Energy conservation and consumption reduction delivered outstanding results. The Party Committee incorporated energy consumption indicators into performance assessments, motivating staff to maximize their efforts. During this season, steam-to-sugar ratio was 37.41%, a reduction of 3.39 percentage points from the previous season; electricity consumption per ton of sugarcane was 31.14 kWh, down 3.88 kWh, saving approximately 200,000 yuan in electricity costs each month.

Refined Management, Collective Effort to Promote Development

The Party Committee of Daqiao Sugar insists on viewing team building as a fundamental project, promoting deep integration of Party work with talent development and management innovation. In talent cultivation, they implemented a “Party Member Mentorship” model, pairing experienced Party members with new employees to teach skills, share experience, and foster work styles. Regular skills training,岗位练兵 (post drills), and technical competitions foster a strong atmosphere of learning and competition.

In management innovation, the Party Committee continuously innovates incentive and assessment mechanisms, ensuring refined management produces tangible results. Using “Excellent Team” competitions as a platform, tasks are detailed and assessments improved, making “everyone shoulder responsibilities and have duties” a normal practice.
