Sina Tech News, March 17th — During today’s Baidu AI Open Day event, Shen Dou, Executive Vice President of Baidu Group and President of Baidu Intelligent Cloud Business Group, shared that compared to the nationwide surge triggered by DeepSeek during last year’s Spring Festival, the spread of OpenClaw this year is “a few days slower than we expected.”

“Actually, before last year’s Spring Festival, we already saw the momentum of OpenClaw’s explosion and did a lot of work internally at Baidu,” Shen Dou analyzed. “OpenClaw is still somewhat more difficult to experience than Chatbots, and it’s actually much more challenging.”

Shen Dou pointed out that even within the AI tech community, using OpenClaw still requires a certain level of technical literacy, creating an implicit barrier for ordinary users. Improving the capabilities of large models is just the first step; how to lower the experience threshold and achieve technological inclusiveness is the key to truly unlocking new boundaries of human-computer collaboration.
