Japan considers introducing Ukrainian drones

Japan’s House of Councillors began reviewing the 2026 fiscal year budget today (March 16), with the defense budget surpassing 90 trillion yen for the first time, reaching a record high. According to Japan’s Kyodo News, the Japanese government has started exploring the introduction of Ukrainian-made drones for the Self-Defense Forces to strengthen the defense system; at the same time, it is also considering expanding classified information sharing with the U.S. military and advancing joint missile production.
