Sina Technology News, March 22 — Today, Alibaba Group Chairman Cai Chongxin was invited to attend the China Development High-Level Forum. During the special seminar on technological innovation and future industry development, Cai Chongxin shared his thoughts on breakthroughs and ongoing development in China’s artificial intelligence. He stated that the ultimate goal of AI is to popularize its applications and benefit society. “Alibaba’s only direction is continuous innovation.”

Cai Chongxin believes that China’s technological development has always been based on independent innovation, adhering to the principles of openness, open source, and mutual benefit, committed to sharing development achievements with countries around the world. If the past few decades were China’s “accumulation period” in technology, today has entered a “blossoming” period of rapid growth. From new energy and electric vehicles to high-end manufacturing, robotics, and AI breakthroughs, China is at the best moment to share technological progress and achievements with the world.

In his view, China’s AI breakthroughs depend on our open-source belief of mutual benefit. By 2025, China will lead the world in the global download volume of open-source models, allowing developers worldwide to access, fine-tune, and deploy these powerful models for free, greatly lowering the global threshold for AI use and making intelligent technology truly a public good for all humanity.

Cai Chongxin emphasized that the ultimate goal of AI is to popularize its applications and benefit society, and Alibaba’s only direction is continuous innovation. “Alibaba’s development is rooted in China, and we are confident in the future of the Chinese market and economy. We are actively promoting the implementation of applications in personal consumption, enterprise, healthcare, and finance sectors, moving into an era driven by intelligent AI agents.”

Currently, Alibaba’s full-stack AI layout in cloud computing, chips, large models, and AI applications is transforming into core competitiveness. According to reports, Alibaba’s self-developed GPU chips have achieved mass production, supporting over 400 enterprise clients in industries such as autonomous driving and finance. The flagship model Qwen3.5-Max-Preview, released just this week, outperforms top overseas models like GPT-5.4 in performance.

Cai Chongxin stated, “In this era and environment full of uncertainties, Chinese technology has the willingness and capability to provide certainty. I firmly believe that the achievements of Chinese technology will benefit the world.”
