Shanghai Electric and China Copper Discuss New Opportunities for Strategic Cooperation During the 15th Five-Year Plan

On March 20, Wu Lei, Party Secretary and Chairman of Shanghai Electric Group, visited China Copper Industry Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “China Copper Industry”) and held talks with Ji Shujun, Party Secretary and General Manager of China Copper Industry. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on topics such as deepening industrial collaboration, expanding cooperation areas, and promoting green and low-carbon development.

Ji Shujun introduced the recent development and strategic layout of China Copper Industry. He stated that as a leading enterprise in China’s copper, lead, and zinc industry, China Copper Industry has long focused on mineral resource development, non-ferrous metal smelting and processing, and new material research and application, accumulating strong core advantages. Currently, China Copper Industry aims to build a world-class excellent copper, lead, and zinc enterprise, vigorously promoting industrial upgrading and green transformation, and actively exploring emerging fields such as new energy, intelligent manufacturing, and circular economy. Shanghai Electric is a leading enterprise in China’s high-end equipment manufacturing industry, with advanced technology and outstanding comprehensive strength in high-efficiency clean energy equipment. The two sides have strong industry complementarity and broad cooperation prospects. We look forward to using this meeting as an opportunity to deepen practical cooperation in mineral resource development equipment upgrades, intelligent transformation of non-ferrous metal smelting, green energy project construction, and other areas, achieving resource sharing and advantages complementarity, and jointly promoting high-quality industry development.

Wu Lei expressed admiration for the achievements of China Copper Industry. He introduced Shanghai Electric’s support for national strategies, focusing on the development practices of high-end equipment manufacturing and green low-carbon industries, especially in areas such as green hydrogen ammonia, zero-carbon industrial parks, and next-generation coal power upgrades, forming systematic solutions. He pointed out that China Copper Industry’s resource advantages and industry needs are highly compatible with Shanghai Electric’s equipment and technology strengths, providing a solid foundation and rich scenarios for cooperation. Shanghai Electric is willing to fully support China Copper Industry’s green transformation and intelligent upgrading during the 14th Five-Year Plan period, and looks forward to strengthening innovative cooperation in international market expansion, circular economy industry chain construction, and industry-university-research collaborative innovation, jointly creating a model of coordinated development between central and local state-owned enterprises.

Kong Desong, Party Committee Member and Deputy General Manager of China Copper Industry, Wang Shengkai, Assistant General Manager, Jin Xiaolong, Vice President of Shanghai Electric, and Cheng Yan, Chief Information Officer, along with relevant departments and industry sector leaders from both sides, attended the meeting.
