Slovenia Holds Parliamentary Elections

On March 22 local time, Slovenia held parliamentary elections. About 1.7 million registered voters nationwide will choose 90 members of parliament from 1,185 candidates. Nearly 3,000 polling stations across Slovenia opened at 7 a.m. and closed at 7 p.m. on the same day. A total of 17 political parties and party alliances participated in the election. Preliminary results are expected to be announced on the evening of the 22nd. The latest polls show that the Freedom Movement led by Prime Minister Robert Golob is in the lead. Additionally, five other parties are expected to surpass the 4% minimum threshold for parliamentary votes. (CCTV News)
