London stock market declined on the 18th
Xinhua News Agency, London, March 18 (Reporter Zhao Xiaona) — The FTSE 100 Index of the London Stock Exchange closed at 10,305.29 points on March 18, down 98.31 points or 0.94% from the previous trading day. All three major European stock indices declined that day.
Among the London stock components, the top five gainers were: industrial supplies supplier Diploma, up 17.79%; business services outsourcing firm Babcock International Group, up 2.05%; engineering company Wier Group, up 2.03%; Standard Chartered Bank, up 1.68%; and easyJet, up 1.46%.
The top five decliners were: financial investment company 3i Group, down 4.80%; catering service company Kimbas Group, down 4.54%; Metron Energy and Metals, down 4.29%; precious metals producer Fresnillo, down 3.65%; and British American Tobacco, down 3.57%.
Regarding the other two major European stock indices, the Paris CAC 40 closed at 7,969.88 points, down 4.61 points or 0.06% from the previous day; the Frankfurt DAX closed at 23,502.25, down 228.67 points or 0.96%.
