News Report (Reporter Guo Jianfeng): The Huangpu River is surging, and the northern wing is gaining momentum. Yesterday afternoon, a “Spring Day Appointment” concerning the future of intelligent manufacturing in Shanghai kicked off in Baoshan. As an important part of the 2026 Shanghai Global Investment Promotion Conference, the “Endless Innovation, New Quality Baoshan” — Baoshan District’s Industry Ecosystem Promotion Conference for Building a City-Leading Intelligent Manufacturing Zone — made a prominent appearance.

The highlight of the promotion event was the unveiling of the Shanghai Atomic-Level Manufacturing Industry Common Technology Research Institute. The institute is jointly established by Baoshan District and Shanghai University, focusing on key technologies in high-end manufacturing fields such as integrated circuits and aerospace that are considered “bottlenecks.” It aims to tackle critical common technologies. This not only marks a milestone for Baoshan in pioneering cutting-edge manufacturing but also injects powerful momentum from the “atomic level” into the construction of the city’s intelligent manufacturing leading zone.

At the event, Baoshan showcased its “industrial foundation” — two trillion-yuan industrial chains in high-end new materials, robotics, and advanced equipment. These are not only the ballast of Baoshan’s economy but also the solid backbone of building an intelligent manufacturing leading zone. Baoshan also launched a series of high-quality intelligent manufacturing resource elements from four dimensions: application scenarios, demonstration benchmarks, financial empowerment, and digital infrastructure, announcing that a complete and highly collaborative industrial ecosystem is accelerating formation.

Data shows that Baoshan has gathered over 300 enterprises above designated size in the intelligent manufacturing sector. By 2025, the industry scale in this field is expected to surpass 100 billion yuan for the first time, with the total industrial output value above designated size exceeding 85 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 5.2%, accounting for one-quarter of the district’s total industrial output. Among them, industrial robot output value is nearly 8 billion yuan, occupying one-third of the city’s market share.

Looking ahead, the newly released “Baoshan District’s Ten Actions for Building an Intelligent Manufacturing Leading Zone (2026–2028)” outlines an ambitious blueprint: by 2028, the total scale of Baoshan’s intelligent manufacturing industry is expected to exceed 350 billion yuan.
