Abstract generation in progress

On March 21, the country’s first 550 MW F-class gas turbine unit, known as the “jewel on the crown of industry,” successfully completed 168 hours of full-load operation and officially began power generation. This marks a new breakthrough in China’s application of large-capacity, high-efficiency, clean energy equipment.

After full capacity commissioning, the project is expected to generate about 2.1 billion kWh annually, save 200,000 tons of standard coal each year, reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 860,000 tons, and nearly eliminate sulfur dioxide, dust, and other pollutants, achieving both economic and ecological benefits.

The core rotor inside this unit weighs 132 tons, with a rated speed of 3,000 revolutions per minute. The rotor spins at 50 revolutions per second, with minimal vibration. When a cup of water is placed on the unit, the water surface shows only extremely slight ripples.

During operation, the gas turbine’s chimney emits no visible smoke, and its environmental index is far below the national pollution emission standards, truly achieving “no smoke during power generation, clean and low-carbon.”
