UN: Nearly 600 Civilian Casualties from Drone Strikes in Sudan This Year

On February 26th local time, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Türk stated that since 2026, drone attacks across Sudan have resulted in nearly 600 civilian casualties. Türk made the remarks at the 61st session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Switzerland. He said that since early 2026, drone attacks in central and western Sudan have continued, with the security situation significantly worsening. The attacks have targeted civilians and civilian facilities, including humanitarian aid convoys, causing serious casualties. (CCTV News)
