Boeing stated that after discovering wiring issues on newly produced aircraft, the delivery of some 737 MAX planes will be delayed, marking a new setback in the company’s plan to accelerate aircraft deliveries to customers. On Tuesday, Boeing said that scratches were found on the wiring of undelivered planes, and the issue was traced back to a machining error. The company did not disclose what repair measures are needed or specify the number of affected aircraft. A Boeing spokesperson said that repairing each plane might only take a few days, and while this delay could slow overall aircraft deliveries for the month, the company remains committed to delivering about 500 737 MAX planes to customers this year. On Tuesday, Boeing announced that it delivered 43 narrow-body 737 aircraft to customers in February. Last month, the company delivered a total of 51 aircraft, the highest February level since 2017.
