On the 20th, Hungarian Prime Minister Orban stated that if Ukraine continues to implement the oil blockade, Hungary will continue to veto its loans within the European Union. Hungary will not succumb to any extortion or threats, no matter how many EU leaders make demands. As long as Ukraine does not restart the “Friendship” oil pipeline and return the oil belonging to Hungary, he will not support any decisions that favor Ukraine.

Russian oil transported through the “Friendship” pipeline to Europe has been suspended since January 27. Hungary and Slovakia expressed dissatisfaction and blamed Ukraine for the situation.

The “Friendship” oil pipeline is a large pipeline system transporting crude oil from Russia to Central and Eastern Europe. The starting point is in Samara Oblast in southwestern Russia. The northern line runs through Belarus to Poland and Germany, while the southern line runs through Ukraine to the Czech Republic, Slovakia, and Hungary. (CCTV reporter Bu Weijun)
