In addition, Zheng Zhigang, Chairman of the Cultural and Arts Events Committee and former CEO of New World Development (00017), was seen at ComplexCon on Saturday. Public information indicates that GEA is a Hong Kong-based startup card grading brand officially launched in December 2025. The company aims to provide highly efficient grading experiences for Asian collectors, with high-end testing and packaging, significantly reducing wait times. Currently, GEA mainly collaborates with HobbyX Store, with dedicated staff collecting and returning graded cards weekly. ComplexCon Hong Kong organized by GEM-listed Huameilele sees revenue surge
This is the third time ComplexCon has been held in Hong Kong. Originating in the U.S. in 2016, ComplexCon was founded by the well-known streetwear media outlet Complex, aiming to create a top-tier carnival that gathers street culture, fashion, sneakers, art, music, and technology.
Notably, ComplexCon Hong Kong is organized by Huameilele (stock code 08429), listed on GEM. In 2024, Huameilele partnered with Complex Network to co-host ComplexCon Hong Kong, marking a “year of transformation” for the company. According to their annual report, thanks to the contribution from ComplexCon Hong Kong, Huameilele’s revenue from content media and experiential services increased 2.5 times year-on-year to about HKD 54.8 million. This segment’s proportion of total revenue jumped from about 29% to nearly 60%, leading to a 70.3% overall revenue growth to approximately HKD 91.5 million. However, due to substantial investments, the company’s net loss widened by 70% to about HKD 10.3 million.
By the first half of 2025, Huameilele reported that ComplexCon Hong Kong contributed to a 13.6% year-on-year increase in revenue from content media and experiential services, reaching about HKD 55.7 million, accounting for 80.5% of total revenue. Overall revenue grew 4.3% to HKD 69.3 million. As a result of improved financial performance from ComplexCon Hong Kong, the loss in the first half of 2025 was significantly reduced by 86.4% to about HKD 900,000.
